| Common Issues FAQ This document will be a living document in which the most common issues that occur with Curse, CurseForge, WoWAce, etc are documented with their workarounds. | Encodings, or: Validating UTF8 |

Contrary to what some people expect, not every file is valid UTF8. This means that if you mess up and mangle your encodings, the files may get rejected or cause problems with various software, such as the CurseForge packager or WoW. Note: The repository hooks validate the encoding of Lua files before accepting them. WoW addons must encode their files in UTF-8. WAR addons must encode their files in either little-endian UTF-16 with a BOM, or plain ASCII. Notation Most numbers are in decimal;...

Check for other tickets The absolute first thing you should do before filing a ticket is to make sure that there aren't any other tickets that represent the same problem. Remember to at least search first. If you do find a ticket describing the same problem, feel free to vote it up. Only if the ticket doesn't exist yet should you file your own. One issue per ticket It's also important to note that you should only describe one issue per ticket, don't try to combine multiple issues into a...

It is highly recommended to use a modern, up-to-date browser when browsing the internet. Our recommendations Mozilla Firefox 3.0+ Opera 9.6+ Safari 4+ Chrome If you have to use Internet Explorer (not recommended), make sure you have at least IE7, though we recommend IE8. But I'm at work and we only have IE6/IE7 Acquiant yourself with Mozilla Firefox, Portable Edition.

CurseForge.com, WowAce.com, and SC2Mapster.com are all run on the same hardware. The distinction arises through different moderators, a different template scheme, different settings, and different games (though CurseForge supports all games, WowAce is WoW-only and SC2Mapster is Starcraft 2-only). They all run on the same web service and use the same database, though. Software Python 2.5 is the language/framework we develop in. SQLAlchemy 0.5.1 for database access. Werkzeug 0.4.1 as our WSGI...
